For those of you who have followed this blog for the past year or so, you would have read about my antics (and major stresses) in my final year of Uni through little anecdotes that I pepper through my posts; and if you follow me on Twitter or read my post about Internships, you may have gathered that after Graduating I decided to ditch my boring office job to pursue a career in beauty. After 6 months of pure hard work, expenses-only paychecks and photocopying I am very excited, and actually quite proud to say that I HAVE A JOB! I am now officially a Beauty PR & Editorial Assistant! Today was my first day, and I feel so lucky to say that my job includes pretty fun things like managing blogger relations, producing website content and generally just having a play around with makeup all day – I seriously could not be happier! To celebrate scoring the first job of my actual proper ‘career’ I treated myself to a rather fancy diary, I call it my ‘Businesswoman’ diary…….
Yep, it’s huge! A week to a page, with lots of space for notes next to it. It’s from a company called Moleskine (they are stocked online and in Paperchase which is where I got mine from) and it’s their Large Soft Cover 2012 Diary. It’s slightly smaller than A4 and has a soft black leather-look cover – it’s definitely not going to be winning ‘pretty-points’ anytime soon, but it does look very sleek and sophisticated. Moleskine are a brand which I was introduced to by my achingly cool new boss, she carries one of these around everywhere with her! They do a range of diaries and notepads which are always black covered, round edged and have expandable wallets in the back. The Moleskine notebook is the successor to the legendary notebook used by artists and thinkers such as Vincent van Gogh and Picasso – hey, if it’s good enough for them 😉 I definitely feel the part having this out on my desk! So there you have it – the news is out! I have got what I wanted for Christmas – A JOB! Ah well, I do also want a Clarisonic…..
Much Love,
Vivianna x
