Clinique are a brand often called upon for their complexion expertise buttoned-up in a clinical white lab coat. But for the past six years they’ve been beavering away at branching out from their cosmetic credentials and plotting a way into the world of nail colour. Didn’t see that one coming did ya? So give a well mani-ed welcome to their A Different Nail Enamel*, launched in 12 shades with limited edition line-up popping up each season. Now without having the chance to play around with these I’m not sure they ever would have ever ended up on my fingertips. Despite the aesthetically pleasing line-up, there’s no more room at my nail polish inn and at first glance the colours seem somewhat dupable. But reservations aside the formula is hardy (four or five days of wear before a re-paint is required), the brush dollops on just the right amount of lacquer, it’s formulated as safe to use on sensitive skins and a few picks have emerged as necessary additions to my colour chest. Namely Sweet Tooth, a sugary sheer ‘my natural nail colour but better’ shade as seen on my Mum above and Happy <3 a pinked-up rouge that sets itself apart as a nice springtime red.
They’re up for grabs now along with their summer shade offering online, and due to land onto counters on 31st May at £12 a pop. Because the inn can always make space for one more polish, right?
