I find that brush washing is one of those things that you really have to get in the mood for. It just takes forever and leaves big foundation-laden splashes all over the bathroom and quite frankly – I can never be arsed – but there’s just something about a freshly washed brush that feels so good. I know I should do my brush laundry each weekend, but if I’m honest with myself I make it to the sink with my brushes on a bi-weekly-ish basis *cough* monthly *cough*. If there was a service where someone came over and washed your brushes for you, I would so be game for that. That, along with a Dairy Milk Giant Chocolate Button delivery service would complete my life. Here are 10 things that go through my mind when I finally get round to washing ’em…

Maybe I should just do it next weekend? They don’t look that bad.
-
No do it now, you can watch YouTube videos whilst you do it, which will make the whole thing much quicker.
-
Man I use so much foundation and bronzer and orange-coloured makeup items. So much orange. Where is it all coming from?
-
Hey BeautyBlender will you ever look brand new again? Why is there a pesky old foundation stain that will never wash out?
-
I really should have done this sooner.
-
My hands feel like prunes.
-
Oh god. I’ve only done foundation brushes and I’ve been standing here for 10 minutes.
-
Maybe I should just use less makeup brushes?
-
That’s crazy talk, I love makeup brushes and every beauty lover needs 3 MAC 217’s. It’s practically the law.

Fine. I vow to do this again next weekend. Oh balls the YouTube video has ended and I have wet hands and I can’t skip to the next video with my nose *stands at the sink for the next 20 minutes in silence contemplating life and the prune-like texture of my hands*
You feel me? Right, I’m off to do the deed…
