Is it a pink? No. Is it a red? No. Is a coral? Ummmm, not sure. My current lacquer loves that I’ve been flashing on my fingertips don’t fall neatly into a colour family at all, but sort of make a new category of their own, being of a mix of all the aforementioned shades. Bright, bold and a nice summer alternative to the reds I was sporting all winter, and the minty pastels of the past few months. Perfect for both sets of paws, I like to wear them paired with a stack of gold and turquoise set rings for a bit of holiday flavour. Clinique’s A Different Nail Enamel in Happy <3* heads up the pack and is the pinkiest of the trio. My favourite is Nails Inc Nail Polish in Portobello, which has a touch of orange to it, making it the most eye-catching. I wear either alone for a more subtle nod of colour, or over the top of a white base for some serious neon action. The Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay Gel Nail Colour in Rose Salsa is a stunner and the hardiest in formula – Â five days without even a touch of tip wear, and it’s under a fiver.
With the arrival of some sunglass-requiring brights, it seems summer has finally arrived. Well, on my nails at least…Â
