From the few peeks I snatched backstage at LFW it’s fair to say that dewy skin ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. The locks may have been different, nail designs changed but one thing remained constant – a youthful complexion with that ‘glowing from within’ finish. I barely saw any of the artists even go within close radius of setting powder. At Orla Kiely they swiped Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick Compact in Rose across the cheekbones, for Zoë Jordan Bourjois Light Eyeshadow in 01 was tapped across the high points and probably the most impressive sheen of all came from the Shu Uemura Eye Light Pencil, which scribed on bone structure at KTZ’s runway.
With this well settled trend in mind I rummaged through my stash to find the real glow-getters and after some careful deductions came to the above luminous skin lineup. If you want to go the whole sandblasted skin hog then there’s four steps to take; namely primer, foundation, concealer and your traditional highlighter. I’ve thrown in a little edit for each for good measure, littered with the odd one or two purse friendly purchases that I think measure up to the big boys. It’s a nice mix if I say so myself and one that I layer on to imitate the faux-good-skin-glow or use individually for a more subtle nod to the trend.
