I think it’s fair to say that I pull the contents of my whole beauty wishlist and wishlist-turned-purchases from the Internet. From other bloggers, from the comments under my posts, a copious amount of YouTube viewing, enabling tweets alerting me that I need something/a product I’ve wishlisted has come back into stock/sale items that it would be rude to not take advantage off (yep thanks for those who gave me a heads up that the STRANGEBEAUTIFUL Inept Laundress Volume is on sale at Cult Beauty, I’ve joined the waitlist), etc etc. I love ’em. And take your recommendations in like a super absorbent sponge that likes to go shopping, so I thought I’d tap into them a little further and see what gems you would suggest for some slots that are currently unfilled in my stash…
- A good daytime and evening moisturiser. I’ve had long affairs with the Origins Night-A-Mins, and am currently switching between Omorovicza’s offerings for morning and night but I still haven’t found ‘the one’. The bill? Something that’s light, but hydrating and not too rich for my combo skin.Â
- A dupe for Jemma Kidd’s Light As Air. Any L.A.A lovers discovered anything that has the same coverage level, yet so darn natural look of our long-lost foundation friend?
- Back to skincare – and I need a product that gives pesky dry patches a kick in the butt. I’ve developed annoyingly placed psoriasis-like patches above my eyelids and although the Africian Botanics Intensive Repair Balm is doing the trick, it’s so pricey and I’m quickly running out of my decanted sample that the lovely Amelia thrusted in my direction. Any cheaper alternatives out there?
- A non-fast drying top coat. Now this might seem like a bit of a weird one coming from such a Seche Vite lover like myself. But a helpful YT commenter suggested that to prolong the chip-free life of CHANEL polishes they require a sticky base (the CND’s Sticky Base Coat is already in my possession, check), and a non-fast drying top coat. Interesting, huh?
So what ya’ got for me? My pen is poised and my notepad open. Ready, steady, recommend.Â
