NY Beauty Kit

Greetings from the Big Apple! I’ve arrived safe and well and after my first burger of many, I’m ready to hit NYFW running and stop into a Sephora (or three – recommendations for the best beauty hotspots in the city are welcomed and appreciated). But before things slip into NY-mode on the blog, I thought I’d rewind to 24 hours ago and show you what makeup made it into my case. Now packing wasn’t too painful thanks to my ‘The City Break: Guide to Holiday Beauty Packing’ video *shameless self-plug* and though I stuck to amount of tickboxes on the bath, body and hair categories I may have gone a little O.T.T on the makeup-front…

FACE: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer (to halt the melting makeup cause it is so darn hot here), Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 6 (for fancy foundation occasions), CHANEL Vitalumiére Aqua Foundation in B20 (for not so fancy foundation occasions), Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Sand (dur), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light (all-round setter, highlighter, redness calmer-downer), Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder in 03 Brunettes* (for bronzey glow yo), Jouer Cheek and Lip Tint in Honeysuckle (to be called in for blush and nude lip duties).

EYES: NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (see earlier comment about the weather situ), NARS And God Created the Woman Palette (contains every shadow I’ll ever need), L’Oreal Infallible 24hr Eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe (….except this one), MaxFactor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara (curled lashes that won’t smudge, sorted), Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette (to tame and tease those badboys into shape), Clarins Crayon Kohl in Taupe* (a nice definer and smudger along the lashline).

LIPS: MAC Lipstick in Neon Orange (the most awesome bold, ever), CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine in Evasion (for when I want to crack out a nude lip), Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Streak* (possibly the best peachy pink in my current rotation).

So that’s what came over the Atlantic with me, who wants to make a bet on how much extra I’ll bring back? Hopefully they’ll be a bit of haul action on my YouTube channel this Sunday if the hotel Internet isn’t too shabby. Right, I’d better get to work on that then. Sephora – I’m coming for ya.
