When summer gets cheeky with Essie and has a dinky baby, it’s a guaranteed formula that ends with a generous handful of new shades entering into my nail polish inn. I spotted a pre-packed trio from their S13 collection on the shelves of Boots for £12.99 and it was approximately six hours before my favourite of the bunch, Sunday Funday made its way onto my nails. A straight-up coral complete with golden flecks that only reveal themselves when danced under direct sunlight, it’s love. Now I’m not usually one for shimmer in my lacquer, but this whole sun induced appearance is something I can appreciate – good thing really as the other two in the pack, the aquamarine Naughty Nautical and Lilacism-like Full Steamahead are too laced with this barely there glimmer.
As always with Essie these last a few days before any major tip touch-ups are required and it’s worth noting that the mini bottles have had a bit of an upgrade since the old days when they were offered in quads with fussy thin brushes – the applicators on these are thick and rounded, much like those seen on the full-size range, no-faff guaranteed. If miniature Essies do it for you too, you can grab them at Boots. And yes I’m entering another week lacquered up with Sunday Funday and I promise it has nothing to do with the name…Â
